Lisa Whitman, M. Ed

Director of ECC

Lisa took on the role of Early Childhood Center Director in June of 2018, after having served as Assistant Director for 6 years.  Before joining the school administration, Lisa taught in the Temple Judea Nursery School for six years and loved every minute of classroom time - from 2s to Gesher. Prior to teaching at Temple Judea - and after a quick stint in television promotion - she taught elementary school in the Beverly Hills Unified School District.

Lisa graduated from UC Berkeley in Communications, and earned her Masters degree in Education from UCLA. Lisa was chosen as a fellow in the first cohort of The First 36 Project, a year-long program designed to use the latest neuroscience research to educate early childhood teachers and parents.  She is currently on the Leadership Team for the BJE's Early Childhood Centers Director's Network, and, in that role, has the opportunity to work with ECC Directors from across Los Angeles.

Lisa is married to John Whitman, a writer and business owner, and is the proud mom of Sarah & Noah Whitman, who learned all about sharing and caring at Temple Judea!
