For those so inclined, the Pre-Meeting Dinner will be, as always at Super Wok, 6:00 pm. Come to the meeting - Support the Brotherhood - Reap the Benefits!
February 19th - 7:30pm. Once again, Oscars experts Nicole Sperling and Glenn Whipp fill us in on which films and performers are most likely to take home Oscar gold. This is the Tuesday before Oscars Sunday, so you can get the info you need to win your Oscars pool! Support this great Brotherhood event -- see you there!
Saturday eve March 2nd at Temple Hillel is the annual dinner held by Men of Reform Judaism (MRJ). We've honored several of our guys in years past - and this year it's our own DAVID DANIEL!!! It's a chance to schmooze with guys from other temples. Join the festivities by attending the dinner; please contact Ron Spiegel for details.
March 24th is Temple Judea's annual Purim Carnival. We need Bros to be there at 9am to help set up and get things started. The carnival runs from 10am to 4pm, so we will need some guys to come enjoy the fresh air and festivities (not to mention the BBQ grill). Contact Dean Piller to coordinate.
March 27th - 7pm. That's right, "The Big Bang Theory" co-creator Bill Prady, who delighted us at last year's Men's Retreat with his "History of Jewish Humor," is bringing his hilarious talk to the wider Temple Judea communiity! There's new material, so even if you heard him last year, you'll want to hear him again... and if you didn't, you definitely don't want to miss this! Support this great Brotherhood event -- see you there!
Target date for the men's retreat is May 18th-19th. Details tbd but reserve this weekend date for another wild and crazy event!
-------- Temple Judea Brotherhood --------
Temple Judea Brotherhood builds lifelong friendships while giving back to the congregation in myriad ways. We provide scholarships for children, from preschoolers to post B'nai Mitzvah, so they can participate in summer camps, retreats, and other important youth programs.
We work with all Temple Judea auxiliaries and are represented at nearly every temple event. Look for Brotherhood ushers every Friday night at Shabbat services. Each year, we publish the Temple Judea member
We also arrange social activities, including monthly poker games, and attending baseball, basketball and hockey games with our youth groups. We have put on major events which provide opportunities to network, develop friendships, further connect with the Temple community, and simply enjoy ourselves.
All Temple Judea "brothers" are invited to join our fun-loving, dedicated group. Our monthly meeting is open to all temple men and is held on the second Tuesday evening of every month.
To find out more about our activities, please e-mail us at and we'll put you on our mailing list, or get the name of a Brotherhood representative from the Temple office, (818) 758-3800, for more information.
Join us to experience the personal satisfaction that comes from doing mitzvot for others, making lasting connections, and having fun!
