Beginnings can be exciting, challenging, even frightening. However, each beginning provides the foundation upon which future values and principles are based. Together we’ll look at Biblical examples of the first love, the first king, the first dreams, etc., using a wonderful and easy-reading new book: “Beginnings: Reflections on the Bible’s Intriguing Firsts,” by Meir Shalev. We’ll examine how our biblical history provides a foundation for our understanding of beginnings in our own lives. Each student should purchase a copy of the book in advance of the class.
