Adult Education

Welcome! As a Beit Midrash, Temple Judea is truly a place to learn.

The world stands on three pillars: On Torah, on worship, and on acts of loving kindness.

There is a rabbinic story that ends by asking a question: If two people are on the same ladder – one on the third rung and one on the seventh rung – who is actually higher? The answer: It depends upon the direction in which they are heading.

In the V’ahavta prayer, the prayer that follows the Sh’ma, we are taught that you should teach the words of Torah diligently to your children. Here at Temple Judea, we consider ourselves a congregation of learners. Every Jewish adult is a student and a teacher of Torah. Engaging in the process of learning is what’s most important.

Let’s celebrate coming home to our new synagogue by joining one another in being part of Temple Judea’s learning community. Together we will explore our texts and traditions and discover a bit about ourselves in the process.

Take time away from the everyday routine and enrich your life with the gift of Jewish learning.

B’Shalom,
Rabbi Karen Bender
